AN EPIC Dessert Table for Nicole and Luke’s wedding day in the Sussex countryside.

THE PERFECT CEREMONY SETTING
Nicole and Luke celebrated their wedding in the stunning Sussex countryside at their family home in July. It couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for their summer wedding day, on what was one of the hottest days of the year! Queue the buttercream panic…
The overarching feel of the day was a relaxed, yet chic summer garden soirée with cakes, cocktails and joyousness in abundance.
there’s always room for dessert!
Nicole and Luke wanted a unique and unforgettable wedding cake moment, something that would provide the ultimate wow factor for their guests, whilst also maintaining an element of grounded, laid back fun.
Together we designed a spectacular dessert table, filled with enough sweet treats to serve 200 guests! Everything was designed with pure indulgence in mind. We wanted to create an immersive display, elegant and decadent, but relaxed enough for guests to feel they could dive in and indulge in as much cake as they could eat, because after all, there is always room for dessert!
Inspired by the idea of ‘cake canapés,’ the couple hosted their champagne reception on the lawn where guests mingled with miniature cakes and signature cocktails in hand.
Nicole and Luke’s style centered on vintage elegance. Think, delicate lace, doilies, floral urns filled with English garden roses and antique candelabras. Nicole spent the months leading up to the wedding collecting all sorts of lovely vintage cake stands, bonbon bowls and French linens to decorate the dessert table.
The showstopping array of over 600 individual desserts were all handmade and decorated to match Luke and Nicole’s wedding style. I wanted everything to feel cohesive so I kept the colour scheme simple; soft ivory icings accentuated by subtle pops of blush pink and gold.
I designed each item with complimentary textures in mind. Dark chocolate tarts with flecks of edible gold leaf to compliment the gold cupcake cases, hand piped floral biscuits to tie in with the table urns, and detailed Lambeth piped white chocolate ganache cakes with matching hand enrobed fondant fancies. With smaller treats alongside; Swiss meringue buttercream cupcakes topped with pink sugar blossoms, individual English rhubarb jellies, marshmallows, lemon tarts and more!
Aren’t the rhubarb jellies just gorgeous! The natural soft pink hue from the rhubarb is just the loveliest colour.
It was an utterly splendid summer wedding day and such a privilege to have created such a feast of desserts for the lovely Nicole and Luke!
